ne of fashion’s most anticipated events, Haute Couture Week, was held last week in Paris and the bi-annual event featured handcrafted, pricey, and opulent high-end designs which leaned towards collectible art rather than regular fashion. Expectedly, Black celebrities and style trendsetters were spotted sizzling in custom-made attires, especially at the Maison Valentino and Dolce Gabbana shows that were held in Rome.
Celebrities and style icons were seen on the front row of these shows concurring the intricately crafty creations — both wearable and museum-quality pieces. We noticed the oohs and the ahhs, the smiles and the awes as designers unveiled one showstopping piece after another to the delight of all in attendance. Whether you decide to wear these pieces or collect them as art, you’d certainly be on the right track to being a part of fashion history. However, if the sky-high cost put these outfits out of your reach, there was still much for the eyes to voraciously feed on. Lucky enough.
The looks
Ciara and her beautiful family were one of the fleets of celebrities present at the Dolce and Gabbana Alta Moda show in Siracusa, Sicily. Ciara wore a DG golden lace dress with heart and floral appliques which she twined with her daughter. While Russell Wilson and the boys took silk button-down shirts to a cooler level. A stylish family is top on the fashion radar.
Top model Cyndi Bruna must have had a swell week. From walking the Iris Van Herpen runway in a metallic detailed vegan dress to looking exquisite in a *Mugler *two-piece for the Brand’s shoot. However, Bruna stood out in a slinky Balmain dress as she attended the *Chaumet *Haute Joaillerie Dinner at Paris Fashion Week. Exceptional!
Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has been spotted countless times during her North America tour for “Water and Garri” in chic Fendace ensembles that always light up her Instagram page. Last week was no different as she, once again, snapped in a Fendi monochrome power suit she wore to the brand’s Autumn/Winter 2022-2023 haute couture show. Big energy!
